Supporters of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement are expressing their approval of an FBI agent’s testimony during Hunter Biden’s ongoing criminal trial.
FBI Agent Erika Jensen testified on Wednesday, marking the third day of Hunter Biden’s gun trial in Wilmington, Delaware. With Hunter Biden being the child of a current U.S. president, this trial is of unprecedented significance.
During his testimony, Jensen addressed the evidence of text messages and transactions involving the purchase of drugs and weapons in connection with Hunter Biden’s laptop, which was left at a repair shop in Delaware. The laptop has been a topic of controversy since 2020, with supporters of Biden dismissing it as a “smear campaign” just before the election, while Republicans maintain that emails found on the laptop reveal foreign business dealings.
On Wednesday, Lowell was contacted by Newsweek via email for comment.
After Jensen’s statement, supporters of the Republican party and MAGA have flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, with celebrations over the supposed absence of proof of tampering. They have also taken this opportunity to ridicule Biden supporters who had previously doubted the legitimacy of the laptop.
Representative James Comer, who chairs the House GOP Oversight Committee, recently shared a video on social media which featured journalist Michael Shellenberger and Democratic Representative Dan Goldman discussing a “conspiracy” during a November 2023 hearing. The committee followed up Jensen’s testimony by posting the caption, “Rough day for Hunter Biden laptop deniers…”
After the hearing, the House committee, in conjunction with the Committee on the Judiciary and Committee on Ways and Means, forwarded “criminal referrals to the DOJ, urging charges be brought against Hunter and James Biden for providing Congress with false information regarding crucial elements of President Joe Biden’s impeachment inquiry.”
In October 2020, journalist Leslie Stahl was interviewed by Donald Trump on “60 Minutes.” User @SteveLovesAmmo shared a video clip from this interview where Stahl mentioned, “We can’t put on things we can’t verify,” in reference to the laptop. Steve added a caption questioning whether Trump would ever receive an apology.
On Wednesday evening, @Leslibless shared a compilation video of Joe Biden making statements about the laptop. Her bio on X mentions her conservative beliefs and her status as a sister to five Department of Defense brothers. In the caption, she noted that the FBI confirmed in court that the laptop’s content was legitimate and had not been altered. The post has been reshared almost 6,000 times.
Just now in court, the FBI said the laptop was not altered in any way, and it’s content is legitimate.
It’s just been introduced into evidence. pic.twitter.com/uIXqszB7ZI— 🇺🇸ProudArmyBrat (@leslibless) June 5, 2024
