U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted weapons and ammunition en route from the United States to Mexico. The incident is currently under investigation by Homeland Security special agents as a potential criminal case.
On Tuesday, the federal agency announced that four weapons, seven magazines, and 700 rounds of ammunition were seized by CBP officers inside a truck and trailer that crossed the border at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry in Texas.
On Monday, law enforcement officers confiscated a stash of weapons and ammunition during outbound examinations at the Camino Real International Bridge.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers discovered a stash of weapons during a secondary inspection of a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 that was transporting a trailer. The officers uncovered four weapons, seven magazines, and 700 rounds of various calibers that were concealed within a plastic tote. The vehicle was headed southbound when it was flagged for inspection.

On Tuesday, CBP South Texas announced a significant bust of outbound weapons on X. They shared a photo of the confiscated weapons and ammunition in their post and added that HSI San Antonio is currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
